Our members come from many different backgrounds and St John welcomes applications for membership from all members of the community, regardless of difference.
We are committed to fostering an inclusive, safe, respectful, positive and equitable environment for all participants in the St John Youth program. One of the ways that we achieve this is to ensure that our policies, procedures, practices and Program activities are inclusive. In addition, our Mangers, Officers and Adult Leaders will model inclusive practices and we will encourage inclusive practices in our Youth Membership.
In providing an inclusive environment, we will positively challenge and address any incidence of discrimination, racism, sexism, bullying, homophobia, interphobia and transphobia, or any other form of harmful behaviour, that we are made aware of. In all our interactions, we aim to promote a feeling of belonging, community connectedness and inclusion. To promote inclusion, we will display messaging promoting the inclusion of all people.
