For the continued safety of staff and students in line with current COVID settings, the following measures are in place:
Importantly, those who meet the following criteria should not attend any St John Ambulance face-to-face Training course:
Yes, Provide First Aid does include CPR training. You can also opt to only complete HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation which, on completion, you will become proficient in providing CPR.
Prices can vary depending on the course you decide to book, and whether it's online or face-to-face delivery. For more information on pricing visit https://www.stjohnvic.com.au/first-aid-training/first-aid-courses/.
It's recommended Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training is refreshed every 12 months and Provide First Aid is completed every three years. This is in line with the Safe Work Australia model Code of Practice: First Aid in the Workplace .
In an emergency situation, you should render assistance whilst adhering to the scope of your training. If you're not trained in First Aid, then you can always call Triple Zero (000) and they will guide you through what steps to take.
Provide First Aid training can be completed in as little as 4 hours 45 minutes through our 100% online delivery and up to 1 day (8 hours and 30 minutes) for face-to-face delivery. CPR Training can be completed in 2 hours and 10 minutes with online delivery or 2 hours and 30 minutes face-to-face.
First Aid courses include both theory and practical demonstration of possible First Aid scenarios. First Aid situations require specific steps that must be followed to ensure the casualty is treated with optimum care at all times and to avoid causing any further damage.
A First Aid certificate doesn’t quite ‘expire’, but it does need to be refreshed at regular intervals to ensure the information is current and reflects best practice.
We have over 30 training locations across Victoria - find out more on our Locations page.

Some of our courses require students to complete cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the floor in order for a Statement of Attainment to be issued. Students will need to perform CPR (including strenuous physical compressions) while kneeling on the ground. A pillow can be used under your knees to perform these exercises, but they must be performed on the ground. If you can’t perform CPR on the ground you can still attend the course to learn first aid, but we won’t be able to issue you with a Statement of Attainment for the unit.
Onsite training can be conducted at your workplace/site/home at any time and can be further customised to suit your needs. This tends to be a preferred option when class sizes reach 10 or more.
Public training at one of our 30+ training venues across Victoria may be a convenient option for smaller groups or individuals. We offer training 7 days a week, to be as convenient as possible for you.
In line with Worksafe Victoria guidelines, we recommend the following ratios for low and high-risk workplaces.
Low risk workplaces (offices, libraries and most retail shops, workplaces with low exposure to hazards):
Higher risk workplaces (those where employees may be exposed to hazards that could result in serious injury or illness that would require immediate medical treatment, which could include manufacturing plants, commercial kitchens, meatworks, motor vehicle and body panel workshops, medical research facilities, prisons and forestry operations):

We are a Fee for Service RTO and report annually to NCVER which then updates USI.
Transcripts reflect the training activity reported by us as an RTO into the national VET collections, so outcomes are not updated in transcripts in real-time.
Reporting is quarterly for Government Funded training and annually for most Fee for Service training activity and for data submitted via Boards of Study for school students.
To avoid confusion, training graduates should rely on documentation issued by their RTO for recent training pending regular national collection uploads.
