This course provides participants with the skills to manage the danger of accidental electrocution. It is primarily designed for electricians.
Learn how to provide first aid for accidental electrocution. This course has been designed for electricians and covers the performance of rescue procedures from live low voltage (LV) apparatus (not including overhead lines and underground cables) in the workplace. It specifies the mandatory requirements of rescue from a live LV panel and how they apply in the context of transmission, distribution or rail work functions.
The course topics include cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), introduction to low voltage principles and rescue from low voltage apparatus.
This course is taught by St John trainers with over 100 years of combined experience and backgrounds in Nursing, Education and Leadership. They are ready to share their experience and passion with you that creates confidence to perform first aid should you ever need to.

St John recommends, as per the First Aid in the Workplace Code of Practice and the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, that low voltage rescue skills are renewed every 12 months.
Assessment is through a combination of practical first aid activities and a written test paper.
You will be required to demonstrate CPR on a manikin on the floor.
This course includes HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation, which is a pre-requisite for UETDRRF004 - Perform rescue from a live LV panel.
