Congratulations To Our 2024 Shocktober Winners
Sudden cardiac arrest is one of the leading causes of death in Australia, impacting about 26,000 Australians every year, often outside of hospital settings.
Shocktober is aimed at creating awareness about sudden cardiac arrest, AED locations, and the crucial part defibrillators and CPR play in increasing sudden cardiac arrest survival.
This Shocktober, we ran a community giveaway, including a St John first Treasure Hunt on Restart a Heart Day, celebrated on the 16th of October, and a month long Shocktober giveaway with over 80 prizes up for grabs. Across the 2 giveaways, we contributed an incredible $35,000+ back to the community in free products and courses.
On Restart a Heart Day, Derrick the Defib, went on a mission to hide heart-shaped stress balls across three key locations, and it was up to the community to find them.
We saw a great engagement from the local communities, who went hunting for prizes, which included a defibrillator, CPR courses and eLearning courses on, Restart a Heart Day.
10x St John Ambulance G3 Defibrillators bundle, 5x spots in our Mental Health First Aid Course valued at $295 each, and lots more.
We also taught CPR techniques to over 1200 people throughout the month, through our CPR Lab - a mobile learning bus that helps you learn the lifesaving technique by providing real-time feedback as you practice on a manikin. You even get to compete with others to see how well you can do CPR!

You Can Make a Difference
Your help today could mean that someone's loved one receives critical first aid, rather than potentially lying unattended on the ground while bystanders are frozen with panic.
Defib in Your Street
The Defib In Your Street program aims to create some of the safest places in Australia to have a sudden cardiac arrest, which is one of the deadliest conditions.
