Honouring ANZAC Day: St John Ambulance Volunteers Stand Tall
On April 25th, as the dawn broke across Victoria, communities gathered to commemorate ANZAC Day, a day of remembrance and reflection. At the heart of these solemn ceremonies stood our dedicated volunteers, offering their support to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all who attended.
Across the state, these dedicated volunteers stood ready at 71 events, offering their expertise and assistance to those in need. Their presence was not just a symbol of service but a demonstration of the enduring spirit of fellowship and compassion that defines ANZAC Day.
In total, our volunteers contributed close to 1,900 hours of service, covering 450 individual shifts. These numbers represent more than just figures; they embody the selflessness and dedication of our adult volunteers and youth members who stepped forward to serve their communities.
For many, ANZAC Day is a time of reflection, a moment to honour the sacrifices of those who have gone before us. Yet, it is also a time to come together as a community, to stand shoulder to shoulder in solidarity and support. From Wodonga to Portland and across Bairnsdale, St John Ambulance Victoria proudly stood alongside our fellow Australians, offering assistance and care.
As we reflect on the significance of ANZAC Day, let us also take a moment to acknowledge and thank our incredible volunteers. Their commitment to service embodies the ANZAC spirit and serves as a shining example of what it means to give back to our communities.
To our volunteers, we extend our deepest gratitude for your tireless dedication and support. Your service does not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly proud to stand alongside you in service to others.
Lest we forget.
