For countless years, we have stood shoulder to shoulder with the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal & Kids’ Day Out, a cherished Melbourne tradition that warms hearts and brings families together. As Melbourne’s favourite Family Day, this event is more than just a fundraiser - it’s a day of joy, laughter, and hope for families, all while raising critical funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital to provide world-class care for children in need. 

At the core of this collaboration lies St John Ambulance’s commitment to community well-being. Year after year, we proudly offer complimentary first aid coverage throughout the event, ensuring the safety and peace of mind for all attendees. Our dedicated and highly trained volunteers are on standby, ready to assist with anything. Our presence is a comforting reassurance, allowing families to fully enjoy the festivities without worry. 

For many years St John Ambulance has also sent along the CPR Lab for families to enjoy, amongst the many other fun activities on offer. Children, parents and all eventgoers can visit us to learn the vital skills of CPR while raising money for this important cause. 2024 is no different as we send along several staff to spread some joy and give the kids a great day out. We will be situated at the external grassed area in front of the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. 

In 2023, we provided essential medical support at 249 complimentary events across Metro and Regional areas. Among these occasions, The Good Friday Appeal – an event that holds a special place in our hearts. It’s a day that rekindles memories, strengthens bonds, and fills the air with immense joy. Our team feels privileged to be part of this meaningful event, knowing that our contribution directly impacts the lives of children and families throughout Melbourne.
