St John Ambulance Victoria Volunteers Assist Bushfire Relief Efforts in Wendouree
Earlier this year, Victoria experienced an unexpected late surge of summer, with temperatures soaring close to 40 degrees in late February and early March.
During this challenging period, our dedicated volunteers demonstrated exceptional commitment by stepping forward to provide vital first aid assistance at the relief centre in Wendouree. A dedicated first aid post was established to ensure the well-being of those affected by the bushfires, where 37 of our amazing volunteers were deployed to stay in standby and provide care for the local community.
The extreme heat posed significant challenges across the state, with multiple events occurring simultaneously. However, through careful planning and the generous contributions of our volunteers, we were able to provide comprehensive first aid coverage at all scheduled events while also ensuring adequate support at the relief centre.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every volunteer who selflessly offered their time and skills during these demanding times. Your commitment to serving the community is truly admirable and embodies the spirit of St John Ambulance Victoria.
Thank you for your continued dedication and support.
